As a WTF affiliate, we encourage our student’s attendance to Regional, State and World sanctioned tournaments. It provides them with experiences unmatched otherwise. 

We supply an informative “Tournament Package” which is handed out upon receipt of Tournament Fees so all students and parents of students will  be aware of where they are going, what they are required to do when they get there, and what they need to have with them when they arrive.  This is especially important when attending tournaments out of city or state.  If you sign up for tournaments please make sure you have this “packet of information”.

When you arrive at the tournament you will need to find one of the Instructors from your school. He/She will be waiting with your tournament ring paper work. Listen carefully to all the announcements, so you do not miss your ring number and time. There is no second chance.  There is always a warm up room/space available somewhere for you to warm up.  PLEASE FIND IT AND DO SO.  Stretch out and go over your materials. Be prepared to go to your ring.  Do not go hungry or too full. Make a bathroom pit stop and have water on hand.

The events occur in a large facility, which contains many smaller rings where a number of similarly ranked and aged students compete with each other in a competitive yet encouraging way. 

There are three judges at each ring and each person competing is required to bring their own gear and supplies. (* Print out this tournament check list for easy check off.) 

You will need to have your Gear Bag with your weapons and mandatory sparring gear when competing. This gear includes mouthpiece, head gear, chest protector, protective cup for guys, feet and hand guards, and white undershirt for females.  Shin guards and forearm guards are optional.
