Tae Kwon Do Tae Kwon Do
is one of the most systematic and scientific
Korean traditional martial arts that teaches more than just physical
fighting skills. It is a discipline that enhances our life through the
training of our body and mind. Tae Kwon Do is different from many of the oriental martial arts. First, physically it is very dynamic with active movements that include a mirage of foot skills. Second, the principle physical movements are in simpatico with that of the mind and life as a whole. Third, it possesses dynamic poses from another perspective. Ho Shin Do Ho Shin Do means "Korean Art of Self-Defense" and was developed by Master Carroll and Master Tommy Cho some years ago. This form would be considered a non-traditional style since it blends many different fighting styles; however, in terms of philosophy, it is very much "traditional" in nature. Ho Shin Do is different from other forms in that it uses techniques that are bio-mechanically sound which allows its practitioners to deliver much more powerful and effective punches, kicks, and strikes while reducing the risk of stressful hyper-extension injuries. Our style takes a step up from the traditional "snapping" techniques, and produces a very flowing and continuous art. Ho Shin Do applies modern science and physics to ancient forms to shock the opponent more and the practitioner less. Hap Ki Do Hap Ki Do is the name of the Korean traditional self-defense art. Literally translated, "Hap" means harmony, "Ki" refers to energy or power, "Do" is the oriental designation of way of, method or in this particular case, art. Hap Ki Do combines joint locks, pressure points, throws, kicks, and strikes for practical self-defense. Hap Ki Do is more soft than hard and more internal than external, but elements of each are included. It emphasizes circular motion, non-resistive movements, and control of the opponent. Although Hap Ki Do contains both outfighting and infighting techniques, the goal in most situations is to get inside for a close-in strike, lock, or throw. When striking, power is derived from hip rotation. Aerobic Kickboxing Combining martial arts with cardiovascular conditioning, Aerobic Kickboxing is a new way to exercise! All of the movements have practical self-defense application. In the mean time, the cardiovascular workout gets you in shape fast, while helping to relieve stress. Basic punching and kicking techniques are taught as the foundation to the classes, leading to more advanced movements which allow the practitioner to build the skill and confidence required to kick and punch with power and authority! |
